About Trinity

Trinity Cathedral is a growing community making disciples through inviting, inclusive, creative celebrations. Trinity offers a vibrant, energetic center for Christian worship, life and ministry in the heart of California's capital city.

The Cathedral community addresses economic and social injustice through active involvement in social outreach and healing ministries within the city, the region and the world.

All are Welcome - When worshipping at the Cathedral you will be in the company of parish members, visitors from different branches of the Christian Church and other faith traditions, as well as those with no previous involvement in any religious worship. We believe the Lord's Table is open to everyone and all are invited to come forward to the altar rail or a Communion station to receive Holy Communion.

Helpful Resources

Sunday School is year-round and begins at 10:15am. Classes are available for children preschool (age 3) through senior high (twelfth grade). Register at the Welcome Center or in the classrooms.
Children's Chapel is conducted during the 9am and 11:15am services for all children. After the gospel lesson, children (and parents who care to join them) follow the verger down the aisle and are escorted to Children's Chapel in the Cathedral House next to the Cathedral. They return during the Peace.
Nursery Care is available on Sundays from 8:45am to 12:30pm for babies to age three years. The nursery is adjacent to the west door of the Cathedral. Older children are encouraged to attend church with their parents. We suggest that families with children sit near the front of the Cathedral. This will help children to feel they are part of the worship.
• Welcome Center and Coffee Hour - Following the 7:30, 9:00 and 11:15am services coffee and refreshments are served in the Great Hall. Near the Coffee hour, you will find the Welcome Center, staffed by volunteers who can answer questions and assist you with any needs.
• Newcomers' Classes - are scheduled several times during the year, and each series lasts for 7 weeks. They take place on Sunday following the 9:00am service, at approximately 10:15am and conclude before the 11:15am service starts. Even if you are familiar with the Episcopal Church, the Newcomers' classes are a great place to become better connected with Trinity activities. You may join in during the next sequence. Contact Canon Kelly kelly@trinitycathedral.org for information about the current Newcomers' Class schedule.
