"So many things have been said about gays and lesbians that preclude the observation that they live lives that are profoundly disciplined. My sense is that gay and lesbian persons over time will have more and more a place in the life of the church. There has to be more knowing of 'the homosexual reality' in the lives of the people."

Excerpted from Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold

PRAYER FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE

"Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
