Join the Kin Community - Connecting, Growing and Serving!
Looking for a place to learn and meet people? Try a Kin Group, part of Trinity Cathedral’s small group ministry. Kin Groups exist to offer community through connecting with others. Plus it is a place where you can grow and serve together with your group.
The mission of Kin Groups is “to see God in the ordinary of our lives and growth in depth and knowledge of God as it applies to each one of us; to bring people into a relationship with God, each other and the world.”
In 2008, Kin Groups were created by a Trinity as a way for people to get connected. They are intended to provide an environment where people can learn from each other and discover their gifts through service, sharing with others, and learning together. Kin groups recognize that each person is an individual with varying interests and abilities. Kin groups are a ministry to the Body of Christ and the World grounded in the core components of growing, connecting and serving. Kin Groups are both neighborhood and interest-based, so they can help you meet people in your neighborhood or connect with those who want to focus on similar concerns or activities.

Kin Group Facilitators — Interested in starting a Kin Group? Kin Groups can be started by anyone. The Kin Group program believes in shared leadership. The program believes that everyone can lead a group with the right resources. Every group facilitator is provided support through a book of resources and monthly meetings with coordinator, sponsor, and other leaders experienced in facilitating groups. Facilitators are asked to ensure shared leadership of the members meeting and to meet expectations of the program.
To express interest in these groups call or email the contact for the group, or to learn more, contact the Kin Groups Coordinator, Corinne Bogié at 916-446-8804 or corinnebogie@att.net. Corinne can help you find a group or find out about starting a group. She will want to have you complete an interest form to understand what you are looking for in a group.
Kin Group Interest Form — Please fill out the Kin Group interest form so that the Kin Groups coordinator can help point you to a group with shared interest and focus. Please note, at the bottom of the form you are asked for the best way to contact you. It also has a place to mark if you are interested in being a leader/facilitator. Kin groups are shared leadership by all members, but the ministry asks that one person represent the group to the leaders support group. The leaders support group meets monthly to celebrate the joy and get help from other leaders and support for any opportunities.
Right click and save the Kin Group interest form to your computer's desk top. Complete the form and save it, then attach the completed form to your email to Corinne. You may also print out and return the completed form to the Church Office (Kathleen Kelly’s box).
Thank you for your interest in the Kin Groups, a Trinity Cathedral small group ministry.
