Trinity Cathedral hosts many events throughout the year that are of interest to the greater Sacramento and Northern California community.
August 6—8 – Discerning Your Spiritual Gifts – Trinity Cathedral is sponsoring a Women’s Retreat at Sisters of Mercy Retreat Center in Auburn beginning after dinner on Friday, August 6th and ending before lunch on Sunday, August 8th. The cost of the event for two nights and four meals is $165.00 (if registered by July 4th) and $170.00 for subsequent registrations. Fees are non-refundable and must be paid in full at the Cathedral Bookshop before the registration is recorded. The theme this year is “Discerning Your Spiritual Gifts”. Time will be spent using tools to see where your strengths and God’s call intersect. There will be time for personal reflection and rest, music and worship, art and play – and tons of good food. July 30: 4 pm to 11:59 pm – Bible-a-Thon – Classrooms A and B: Genesis to Numbers – Trinity Cathedral is offering a unique opportunity to hear (the voice of Alexander Scourby) and view the entire Old Testament in its poetic King James Version form beginning Friday, July 30th at 3pm and ending on Sunday, August 1st at 9 pm in Classrooms A and B (next to the Great Hall).
This will be the Old Testament only and will be an interfaith experience. Come share in the Word! All are welcome. Join us for as long as you can. One can expect to hear and view approximately 20 chapters in an hour's time.

July 1: noon – Thursday Lunch Bunch – Join us for a potluck luncheon on July 1 at noon as we conclude our study of Sara Miles book, Take this Bread.
On July 8th we will begin a new Summer series based on the Martin Doblmeier film titled: The Power of Forgiveness. Many of us find it difficult to forgive. At the same time we know that Christ invites us into a healthy and loving relationship with ourselves and our neighbor. Doblmeier’s film and study guide invites us into this conversation through exploring some very powerful stories that include the Amish school shooting, families who lost loved ones in 9-11, Northern Ireland, the Holocaust, and two families brought together through murder.
We meet weekly from 12 noon to 1 pm. Bring a sack lunch and join us in this challenging series. Contact Canon Lynell Walker.
July 1: 2:30 pm – Summer Creative Writing Group – The Creative Writing Group will begin meeting weekly, beginning July 1, at 2:30 pm in the Conference Room. Our summer focus will be on Poetry. Participants are invited to bring a favorite poem to share. The group is then invited to respond weekly to a new prompt and to explore the creative process of writing on the topic in poetic form. All may share what they have written, none must. We gather to write for the sheer fun of it! Canon Lynell Walker, Facilitator.
June 26: 8 pm – Celtic Music Concerts to Provide Haitian Relief – St. Paul's Episcopal Church is pleased to announce two upcoming concert events to benefit Haitian Relief Efforts. The first concert is at Trinity Cathedral. More information.
June 5: 7 pm – Canon David Link Celebrates Twenty-five Years – In 2010, Canon David Link celebrates twenty-five years as Director of Music at Trinity Cathedral. On Saturday, June 5th at 7 pm, we will celebrate the joy of music at Trinity Cathedral. Please join the Cathedral Choir, Celebration Choir, Cathedral Choristers, Saturday service musicians, and Handbell Ringers as we present a service of readings and music in celebration of the ministry of music at Trinity Cathedral.
The music will include "Te Deum in C" by Benjamin Britten, "Step-by-step" by Horace Clarence Boyer, "For the Beauty of the Earth" by John Rutter, and much more.
A special highlight will be the premiere performance of "A Prayer of Alcuin" written especially for Canon Link by English composer Simon Lole. Canon Link's good friend Dr David Deffner will be the guest organist.
Please plan to stay for a celebratory reception following with thank-you's and presentations honoring Canon Link's 25 years of service to Trinity.
June 4: 7:30 pm – Education for Ministry (EfM) Graduation – Join us for the EfM Graduation and Reception as we honor this year’s graduates of the four year EfM course of study. As the host parish for this Diocesan event we are asking for donations of desserts for the reception.
May 30: 9 am and 11:15 am – Jazz Masses – The Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 30th, we will again have our Annual Jazz Masses at the 9:00 and 11:15 services. The Celebration Choir will be joined by the dynamic Jim Martinez Jazz Praise Group, who might be considered our "Jazz Artists in Residence."
You won't want to miss the great music planned for this Sunday which will include "Come Sunday" by Duke Ellington, "Alleluias" by Paul Halley, "He has the power" by Leon Roberts, and "Down by the Riverside" arranged by John Rutter. Bring a friend, neighbor, or co-worker, and join us for joyful worship!
May 17: 6 pm – Bishop Christopher Senyonjo (ret.) of West Buganda, Uganda, will be speaking. Bishop Senyonjo was expelled from the Church of Uganda by Archbishop Henry Orombi in 2006 for his support of homosexuals. More information.
May 15: 7:30 pm - Valley Choral Society, conducted by Paul Allen. "May with the Masters" concert. More information.
April 25: 4 pm - Please join us as we welcome The American Boychoir to Sacramento. The American Boychoir is simply one of the world's finest choirs. This Grammy award winning choir has performed with artists as divergent as the New York Philharmonic, Wynton Marsalis, The Boston Symphony, Sir Paul McCartney, and even Beyoncé.
The American Boychoir School is the only non-sectarian boy's choir school in the nation, and was founded in 1937. This is their second appearance in Sacramento... their last concert at Trinity Cathedral was to a packed house. You won't want to miss this exceptional group of young musicians!

January 10—February 14 - Trinity Cathedral Epiphany Outreach Campaign - During Epiphany (January 6 - February 14) Trinity Cathedral focuses our attention on the Outreach and Advocacy ministries of the church. During the campaign information about various community efforts will be shared through guest preachers, speakers and forums. On February 14, there will be a Ministry Faire and a special collection to offer people the opportunity to support various agencies through volunteer service and funding. More information.
January 30 - The Twenty-fifth Annual Diocesan Choir Festival welcomes Simon Lole as guest conductor. Mr. Lole is formerly organist & master of choristers at Salisbury Cathedral, and is now a music consultant and arranger for the BBC. He is also a well-known composer of church music, and the festival will include one of his own anthems "A Celtic Prayer." All choral singers from around the diocese are invited to participate in what promises to be a great day of music making. The day ends with a choral evensong at 3:00 pm. Complete and submit the Diocesan Choir Festival registration form, and plan to spend the day at your Cathedral!

January 18 - Martin Luther King, Jr. March - Meet at the corner of 11th Avene and Freeport Boulevard (near "Espresso Metro") at 8:45 am to join the annual solidarity march to the convention center (2.5 miles one-way).
