Cathedral Music Series 2006-2007 Season
Wednesday, October 25th at 7: 30 pm - We are pleased to welcome the Choir of men and boys from Hereford Cathedral in England! Hereford Cathedral has a long and distinguished musical tradition, and is one of the hosts of the famous "Three Choirs Festival," one of the longest continuing music festivals in the world. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear a traditional English Cathedral choir right here in Sacramento! Tickets: $16 general, $14 students & seniors (65+)
Friday, December 8th at 7:30 pm - The RiverBells handbell ensemble presents their annual Holiday Concert at Trinity Cathedral. This fine semi-professional handbell group is well know in the Sacramento area for their excellence and versatility. Join us as the RiverBells usher in the holiday season! Admission: Free-will offering.
Saturday, January 27th at 3:00 pm - The Twenty-first Annual Diocesan Choir Festival, welcomes guest conductor, Mr. Nigel Groome, from London, England. One of our most popular guest conductors, Mr. Groome will lead a choir of over one-hundred voices in music by Charles V. Stanford and Charles Wood, in a service of Choral Evensong.
Sunday, February 18th at 4:00 pm - KITKA is certainly one of our favorite visiting artists, and we are pleased that they are returning once again. This fabulous women's vocal ensemble, specializes in music from the Eastern European musical tradition. Their superb artistry guarantees a full-house! Tickets: $15 general, $12 students & seniors.
Friday, May 11th at 7:30 pm - Music at the Cathedral is a concert featuring Trinity Cathedral's own choirs. The Cathedral Choir, Celebration Choir, Resurrexit and Handbell Ringers join to make glorious music, as we celebrate the diversity of our musical heritage! Proceeds support the Cathedral's Music program. Tickets: $10 general, $7 students & seniors.
Liturgical Music Events for 2006-7
Choral Evensong is sung by the
Trinity Cathedral Choir on the Second Thursday of each month at 5:45 pm. The
order of service is from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and the choir sings
music from the great choral repertoire. Please join us for this beautiful and
unique service!

Tuesday, April 3rd at 7:30 pm - The Solemn Office of Tenebrae sung by "Resurrexit," including the Tenebrae Responsories by Tomas Luis de Victoria.
Good Friday, April 6th at 7: 30 pm - The Solemn Liturgy for Good Friday: Music by the Cathedral choir including Psalm 22 "Mein Gott, Mein Gott." by Felix Mendelssohn.

Sunday, June 27th at 9:00 and 11:15 am - Annual Jazz Masses with the Celebration Choir and guests Jim Martinez and friends.
Welcome to the 2006-2007 season of the Trinity Cathedral Music Series. We have a very special season ahead of us, with a concert by the incredible Hereford Cathedral Choir, a return appearance by KITKA, and culminating with a concert by our own Cathedral Choirs.
Because Music Series expenses cannot be entirely met by ticket sales, you are offered the opportunity of becoming a Music Series contributor. Donor levels and benefits are outlined on the subscription form.
In addition, you may choose to underwrite a concert, and have a personalized dedication or memorial included in the program. What a unique way to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary, or other special occasion! Contact the music office for further information (916.446-2513).
A note about tax deductions: The IRS does not allow tax deductions for the portion of a contribution which includes premiums received by the donor such as concert tickets and recordings. The value of these premiums must be subtracted from the total donation, to get the deductible amount.
