Trinity Cathedral Music Series: 2007-2008 Season

Friday, October 12 at 7:30 pm
We are pleased to announce that our 2007-2008 Cathedral Music Series will open on Friday October 12 at 7:30 pm. The sound of music will fill the Cathedral as we welcome singer and musician Elizabeth Von Trapp. Yes, THAT Von Trapp... Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Maria and Baron Von Trapp of "Sound of Music" fame, and this is her very first appearance in Northern California. Tickets: $18 general, $15 students & seniors (65+).

Sunday, November 11 at 4:00 pm
Trinity Cathedral's warm acoustics are a perfect venue for Chamber Music, and we are pleased to present three outstanding musicians in an unusual combination. Trumpeter Gary Dilworth, violinist Michelle Yu, and pianist Roy Sanchez join in a unique program of transcriptions and original works. Tickets: $14 general, $12 students & seniors (65+). Sacramento's RiverBells handbell ensemble, Paul Coddington-Allen, director, in their Annual Holiday Concert. Join us as the RiverBells ring in the holiday season! Donation requested.

The Twenty-second Annual Diocesan Choir Festival welcomes Katherine Dienes, conductor. Ms. Dienes is Director of Music at St. Mary's Collegiate Church in Warwick, England, will conduct a choir of over one-hundred voices, culminating with a service of Choral Evensong.

Sunday, January 27 at 4:00 pm
Katherine Dienes brings her virtuous organ playing to Trinity Cathedral. She'll run the Cathedral's fine Reuter organ through its paces in a program guaranteed to delight and inspire. Donation: $8 general, $5 students & seniors (65+).

Sunday, March 2 at 4:00 pm
We are most pleased to welcome the renowned women's vocal ensemble KITKA back to Trinity Cathedral! KITKA specializes in music from the Eastern European tradition, and is one of our most popular visiting artists, always singing to a full house. Tickets: $16 general, $12 students & seniors (65+).

Sunday, March 30 at 4:00 pm
Jazz in the Cathedral welcomes Jim Martinez and his ensemble. Well known throughout the country for his unique jazz interpretations of hymns and sacred songs, Martinez is a frequent performer at our annual Jazz Masses. Come and join us for this joyful and lively performance! Tickets: $10 general, $8 students & seniors (65+).

Because Music Series expenses cannot be entirely met by ticket sales, you are offered the opportunity of becoming a Music Series contributor. Donor levels and benefits are outlined on the subscription form.

In addition, you may choose to underwrite a concert, and have a personalized dedication or memorial included in the program. What a unique way to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary, or other special occasion! Contact the music office for further information (916.446-2513).

A note about tax deductions: The IRS does not allow tax deductions for the portion of a contribution which includes premiums received by the donor such as concert tickets and recordings. The value of these premiums must be subtracted from the total donation, to get the deductible amount.
