Trinity Children's Chapel
A Ministry of Young People for Younger People
"Children's Chapel is a ministry of young people for the younger members of the congregation. We believe in having the family worship together
in the church but we also know that young children cannot sit for long periods of time. The Children's Chapel service is held after the Gospel
is read in church. All Children are invited to join the Children's Chapel ministers at a 20-minute service designed for young children. Chapel
is held during the 9:00am and the 11:15am services.
The Chapel ministers are from the fifth grade through high school. They lead the songs, liturgy and all other aspects of the service. The Gospel
is presented either as a skit, puppet show, flannel board story or a storybook. There are five ministers assigned each Sunday to the Children's
Chapel Service as Liturgist, Lector, Musician, Sharing and Ushering. The jobs are rotated monthly so that each minister has an opportunity to do
each job. A monthly schedule is prepared for the ministers.
To assist the youth ministers we have an adult liturgical advisor. This person's job is to see that everything is ready when the children arrive
from church. An adult musician is present to provide piano or guitar accompaniment for the singing. Two adults are needed at each service for
everyone's protection and a monthly schedule is also sent to the adults.
The benefits of this program are many. Young children have some wiggle room during the service and they build relationships with other children.
Our young people are role models to the younger children, and each minister gains poise and an ability to lead a group. If you would like further
